Haven’t made this one myself yet, but our garden is busting with broccoli this year, so we will definitely give it a shot. Looks and sounds delicious! Here’s what Mom said you need and 10 easy steps:
1 “oronoque” deep dish pie shell (partially defrosted is best)
Fresh or frozen broccoli spears (microwave or partially cooked in water), then fully drained and rough chopped into large pieces
5 oz cheddar cut in chunks
4 large eggs
1 cup heavy cream
1 Tbs flour
Salt
Pepper
Nutmeg (pinch)
1. Poke a few holes in pie shell with fork
2. Put in oven 375 for 15 min.
3. Beat eggs
4. Add heavy cream
5. Beat eggs and cream together
6. Add flour, salt, pepper and nutmeg to beaten eggs & cream
7. Put broccoli pieces in bottom of pie shell
8. Add cheese pieces between the broccoli
9. Pour egg/cream mix over broccoli cheddar
10. Bake in 375 oven 45 min
Should probably let it cool a bit before digging in, then enjoy!
